How can I exercise at home?

Exercise is a basic tool to maintain our cardiovascular health in excellent condition. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends doing at least 150 minutes of exercise per week. This generates the release of certain protective substances in the blood vessels that prevent the accumulation of fat; in addition, the heart is trained to achieve activities that require more effort than those previously carried out.

The quarantine has caused many families to stay at home and abandon the exercise and physical activity routines they had. This, in addition to the fact that the coronavirus increases complications at the heart level, could increase the rates of heart attacks and other heart complications.

Exercising at home is not as complicated as you might think. In addition, it is a fun activity that can be done at home, as a family. Some of the cardio exercises that can be performed are the following:

1. Walking or running in the same place

This exercise can be done in small spaces because you are not really moving from place, you just simulate walking or running. Try to move your arms and legs.

2. Jump in!

Yes! Jumping is a fairly complete exercise, more so if we add the movement of the arms to the exercise. If you have a rope, you can use it and burn a lot of calories.

3. Yoga / Pilates

Stretching exercises help the muscles to maintain their muscle tone, in addition, this type of exercise helps to clear the mind a little.

4. Bicycle in the air

Lie on your back and pretend as if you were pedaling a bicycle. In addition to being fun, this helps to strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and lower extremities.

5. Dance

Do you like to dance and don't like to be seen? This is your best opportunity. Dancing is an excellent exercise and also, if you do it as a couple, you can have an excellent time.

6. Box / Kickbox

It is possible to train at home through boxing or kickboxing exercises, just remember to warm up well before starting!

7. Do you have stairs?

You can turn the stairs of your house into a tool for exercising. Going up and down stairs increase the strength in your lower limbs and if you do it enough you will be able to burn enough calories.
